Time to get back to normal

Well the kids are off to school and the house is quiet again. We had a wonderful break. I took the 2 weeks off work and Mark had the majority of it off and it was wonderful to just be able to concentrate on our family and having fun together. We saw The Tale of Desperaux movie. It was very cute. We also got movie tickets as a family gift from Mark's sister so we also saw Bedtime Stories. We were all very surprised- it's a great movie! Nick got the electronic version of Monopoly so we played that a couple times too. Nick doesn't want to play that with me anymore though because I trounced both him and Mark both times! The kids did great the whole vacation- I was very proud of them- it was one of the best breaks we've ever had!
It is nice to be back to normal though. You get to a point where you don't even know what day it is anymore.

On a totally different note- I have a quick recipe for you. I ran out of tortilla chips and decided to make my own. I had never done this before and they are really yummy.
You heat up oil to 360 degrees. Cut up either corn or flour tortillas in 1/2 first then each half into 4 triangles- so you'll get 8 chips out of 1 tortilla.
Drop them into the oil and then flip and then drain on plate covered in paper towel.
Mine didn't take long at all- maybe 20-30 seconds per side. When on paper towels sprinkle them with kosher salt.
They are very good with salsa too!

I am so happy that you had a good relaxing time with your family during the vacation. That always means a lot.
Your recipe sounds good too.

Glad you had a good vacation. My husband goes back to school tomorrow, so that will be "back to normal for him!"

I thought Tale of Despereaux looked cute too, so I'll put it on my "to see" list. What is the Monopoly you are referring to? Is it for a game station or is it still a boardgame? We love Monopoly so I have to keep up on what's out there! :)

I like those kid movies way better than most of the others out there these days.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful break. Sometimes those winter breaks can be loooonnng for the kids if they get bored.

We enjoyed our time, too and the time off work is always nice :)

I took the girls to see Bedtime Stories last Sunday (when we had no electricity and the house was getting cold) and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie. Adam Sandler movies usually make me a little nervous but this one was really clean.
Smiles!
