Recipe for Fun????

What do you get when you take a bowl full of pudding:

And combine it with paintbrushes?

Pudding Paint!

I saw this on Jon and Kate plus 8 and I thought the girls would have a blast doing this so I made up the pudding tonight. I only had vanilla and butterscotch so I chose the butterscotch. I wish I had chocolate because it would have shown up better.

I was so excited to do this with them but of course I was wrong! Halle wanted nothing to do with it. Arianna thought it was fun at least!

Here she is all painted up and heading to the shower!

A Little Bit Of Girl Time

Arianna and I got to have a little girl time today because Nick stayed over night at Terri's house so he and Chelsea could go to the fair again and Halle got called over to a friends house for a playdate today.
That left just me and Arianna this morning, so I thought this would be a prime opportunity to have a special mom and daughter day at the spa!

I had heard that Booker Institute does a great job at pedicures and they only cost $17.
Since I was paying for 2 I didn't want to go somewhere really expensive.
They did a good job and we had alot of fun.
Check out these pretty toes!

It's that time of year again

What time of year you wonder?

Fair time!!

Yup- it's the 3rd week of August and that means Fair time. I took the kids to the fair yesterday. They do a reading program and then they get 5 ride tickets and a ticket to the grandstand event at night. It was the off road derby- we love it.
Here are some pictures:

And the best thing about the fair???

Fair food!!!

Chicken BBQ

Every year we go to the Chicken BBQ with most of the family. We got to go again on Saturday. I always look forward to this because they have the best chicken around! This year it was extra special because they were celebrating their 50th anniversary so they brought in extra things for the kids to enjoy. They had a petting zoo, bounce toys, a corn maze and hay wagon rides. It was an added bonus because Mari got to come along this year.

Here are the kids on the Hay Ride:

They had fire trucks there also- they were spraying the water straight up into the air:

They had some cool cars that were really fun to look at:

Halle coming down the bounce ride: Sorry about the color of these videos- I accidentally hit the Sepia button!

Arianna and Katelyn Racing: They are attached to a rubber band that will only allow you to go so far before you're pulled back. The race is to see who can get the object in their hand the furthest down.

Good question!

This afternoon Halle just wandered in by me and asked me:

Mom- is it hard being a parent?

Well- that really surprised me out of the blue.
I told her that yes- it is hard being a parent, but it's also the best thing in the world and I wouldn't change being her mom for anything.

I asked her why she had asked me that and she said she was just wondering.

I wish I could just get inside her little head sometimes and figure out what she's thinking sometimes!

Just a quick interruption

Did any of you stay up to watch the mens relay race in swimming last night on the olympics??

IT WAS BEYOND FANTASTIC!!

Especially because the French were smack talking against us!

I was screaming out loud- I woke Halle up- but it was worth it!!

I'm back again!

We're back from camping again. After camping 2 times with only 1 week in between trips- I'm back and happy to be home again.

This was the week that I camped with my sisters- Terri and Mari. The husbands came out on the weekends, but the week- it was just us and the kids.
We had pretty good weather- there were a few rain showers and 1 pretty good storm but overall it was good.

The kids had fun at the beach and the pool and had a great time spending time together. Halle and Shaelyn were pretty much together non stop! We shared lots of laughter and just enjoying time together.

Here are some pictures of our week:

Vacation Again!

Well I'm off on another vacation adventure. We leave tomorrow for camping with Mari and Terri!
It will be only us girls and the kids, but I have every confidence we will do just fine.
There will be lots of laughter and good times I'm sure. I'll give you all the details when we get back.
Have a great week!
