The Landscaping

I promised you pictures of the hard work we did in our landscaping.
We worked so hard this weekend, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!
We started by taking out the lilac tree. Mark worked so hard getting that thing out!
I will miss the lilacs, but it was getting so bushy and out of control it was time for it to go:

We also put in all the edging and put in new Hostas and begonias:

Instead of the lilac tree, we got a crabapple tree:

One of my best accomplishments was to paint our old bench. It used to be green on the sides and the wood was stained a dark brown. We painted the whole thing and it looks so good- I absolutely love it!

That looks great! Kane would be proud, although that lilac tree was awefully pretty.

We have a bench just like that by our front door that Mark wants to replace with a new one and I said it just needs a new coat of paint. I will have to paint it quick to show him so he doesn't buy a new one. Great job everything looks wonderful!
Smiles!

I love your new landscaping design! We cut out three lilac bushes last year. I didn't realize how they can take over. I like lilacs but they can get invasive.

How could you get rid of my favorite flower???!! Halle told me there weren't going to be any lilacs next year but... I must say though, it does look really nice.

It looks sooo good. I love hostas. I will have some next year. Your bench looks great. I have one that needs to be redone. I'll have to do a before and after on that.

I am looking at your bench again. Hmmmm! We should paint our bench like that. We have one if we would put it together. We had left it out in the weather and it didn't weather so well. This was two years ago and we still haven't done anything about it. I must show your bench to Alan.
