We worked so hard this weekend, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!
We started by taking out the lilac tree. Mark worked so hard getting that thing out!
I will miss the lilacs, but it was getting so bushy and out of control it was time for it to go:
We also put in all the edging and put in new Hostas and begonias:
Instead of the lilac tree, we got a crabapple tree:
One of my best accomplishments was to paint our old bench. It used to be green on the sides and the wood was stained a dark brown. We painted the whole thing and it looks so good- I absolutely love it!

That looks great! Kane would be proud, although that lilac tree was awefully pretty.

We have a bench just like that by our front door that Mark wants to replace with a new one and I said it just needs a new coat of paint. I will have to paint it quick to show him so he doesn't buy a new one. Great job everything looks wonderful!
Smiles!
Everything looks great and I love the bench! :)
You have done some amazing work ! I love the way the garden looks ! Such a transformation with the old tree gone and the new one in ! And the bench ! It's wonderful !! I love it. Do you sit and read and admire your lovely garden from this bench ?! I would !
Looks great guys! Love the bench!
That looks great! I love how everything looks after it's first done! Fresh and clean!
I love your new landscaping design! We cut out three lilac bushes last year. I didn't realize how they can take over. I like lilacs but they can get invasive.
How could you get rid of my favorite flower???!! Halle told me there weren't going to be any lilacs next year but... I must say though, it does look really nice.
It looks so wonderful!!!!!!! I cannot believe how much room you have there without the Lilac! I love them too but they do have their place!!
Looks fantastic. I trying to get our yard in order. The pool will wait a few weeks :(
Great job on all the hard work.
All I have to say is I love lilacs... Great bench and great job with all the hard work.

The bench looks awesome! Great job on the landscaping.
It looks sooo good. I love hostas. I will have some next year. Your bench looks great. I have one that needs to be redone. I'll have to do a before and after on that.

I am looking at your bench again. Hmmmm! We should paint our bench like that. We have one if we would put it together. We had left it out in the weather and it didn't weather so well. This was two years ago and we still haven't done anything about it. I must show your bench to Alan.
looks great - i am inspired!
Wow!!!! That looks absolutely awesome! It changes the whole look of the house and now you can see the front door and everything. That is so cool!
