12 Days of Christmas?

Just a quick one for you today. There's a new rendition of 12 days of Christmas- have you heard it yet?
Last night I overheard Halle singing it. It went like this-


On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a POP TART in a pear tree!

Pool fun

Nick found this crocodile blow up floater in the barn the other day. The girls were so excited. So excited that they wouldn't come in for supper. We ended up eating without them and they were told they missed supper and they could come in and eat supper but because they didn't listen they were not getting any bedtime snack that night. They came in and Arianna ate nicely but Halle wasn't happy about the stew I made for supper. She said if she ate it she would get sick- so nice when they appreciate your supper! We then all proceeded out to the pool and they were having to take turns with one of the other toys. It was Arianna's turn and Halle was being cranky about it. She ended up having to sit on the ladder until she could be nice. All of a sudden I hear her say:
"She just makes me so miserable!" I had to turn around because I was chuckling. Mark ended up handling the situation. Where does she come up with this stuff- no I've never said that about them!

Another Halle-ism

On Saturday Halle was reminiscing about Nick's Gecko Lizard named "Kroll" that died about 1 year ago. Here's how the conversation went:
Halle- Mom do you remember Kroll?
Me- Yes I do
Halle- He died and is in heaven now isn't he?
Me- Yes honey
Halle- I bet he's having a hard time there
Me- What? What do you mean?
Halle in a voice that's saying "duh mom"- He's quite short mom- he's probably having a hard time not getting stepped on.

At that point I burst out laughing and knew that was a perfect blogging moment!

A proud mama moment

We listen to a lot of country music and apparently Halle is really learning a lot of the words to these songs. The other day I hear Halle muttering something and all of a sudden I realized what she said. It's always a proud moment when you hear your 5 year old say - "I'm going to sit right here and have another beer in Mexico"
Oh did my heart soar!!!!!
I did tell her that we needed to fix the words to that song because beer isn't a good thing so now the words are- I'm going to sit right here and have another rootbeer in Mexico.
I'm just hoping it doesn't get repeated the old way in front of... oh maybe Grandpa for instance!!

Halle-isms

I've always meant to write down in some sort of book when the kids say funny things so this is the perfect way for me to remember them now.
Halle came up with 2 good ones recently.
The other day she came in with a magazine or something that had Chinese writing in it. She said to me "Mom- this writing is very hard to read- they really need to slow down!"

The other one was she was trying on a new shirt and came in to show me. I told her how beautiful she looked. She was so proud of her shirt and she had the biggest smile on her face. I said to her "Halle- do you know what is the best thing about you?" She didn't say anything and I told her "Your smile" She looked at me and said "I like my heart the best!"
Kids are so smart aren't they! Halle you are absolutely right- I love your heart the best also!!!!!
