We went to a beautiful home in Traverse City and it didn't dissapoint.
Here are some pictures of the home:
The log cabin:
This is our bedroom- it's the upstairs loft:
This is the basement- complete with pool table:
The kitchen:
This is the wonderful living room with fireplace:
On the way up we ran into some freezing rain. It wasn't too bad on the roads and it made for some beautiful pictures:
As we were driving around Traverse City we took a couple pictures.
Isn't this a nice barn?
It's actually an ice fishing shanty. Here's a picture of the water- so pretty!
We had such a nice time- On Friday we went to a winery and did some wine testing. We've never done this before because we don't drink very often but this was fun.
Here's Mark:
Here we are outside the winery:
We also did something else we have never done before- are you ready for this:
We went for a couples massage! I've never had a massage before and have always wanted to. I didn't want to go by myself so I suggested a couples massage and Mark said yes! It was wonderful! A little bit of heaven on Earth!!
Here's 1 more picture for you. Mark was looking out the huge windows and spotted this one lonely star. Pretty cool!
We both decided we want to try to come back next year. We're thinking having this be a big part of the kids Christmas presents and coming back as a family. There is so much to do there and we think the kids would love it. We showed them pictures and they all want to do it so we'll see....
Now back to reality~

It looks beautiful!!!
First off, that was not a star, but me sitting in the tree spying on you two :)
It looks wonderful, a bit like the cabin where Alf and Alicia stayed on their honeymoon in Tennesee.
Wine tasting? We've never done that either as we don't really drink, but it sounds relaxing and fun. We did try some tasting at the orchard with Beto and Linds and it was interesting to say the least.
There is no place like TC and nothing like ice on the trees. I'm glad the trip was fun and the roads safe.
Now...back to real life.
Oh Cheri, it looks like you had a wonderful time. I love all the photos, really wish I could take a few days in a place like that :)
That looks so great! I think that would be so much fun to do sometime! Great pics!

It is so beautiful! The trees are gorgeous with the ice on them, Glad you had fun. Now e-mail me the info on this place. I want to go too!
The lodge is a beautiful place and so pretty in the ice and snow. Did you have to carry in the logs to put on the fire?
What a great trip! Let me guess you were at the 2 Lads Winery?! Right?! Now don't think bad of me, but Kam and I do the winery's every spring! It is fun! The cabin must have been awesome!
Looks like a great place. Someday Dave and I have to do a get away together. This could be the place to go.

Oh Cheri . . .you make me miss it soooooo bad! We have the exact same picture with the star only ours is the moon! And here is the funny thing - we did ice to only when we were leaving! Did they have to come out and get the fireplace going or did you get it on? We had a terrible time with it but finally got it going!
Glad you had a great time! I love love that place. Someday I want to retire and build the exact same house!
