Can it be 700?

My post counter tells me that this is post #700. How did that happen?
Since I'm feeling so uninspired lately I'm going to open it up to you. You can ask me anything and I'll answer your questions.
Please be kind with your questions :)

Oh ... I'm first ! Ok ... I'd like to know ... if you could meet with one person for an hour, who would it be ? why ? and what is one question you would have for them ?

Cheri said...

Ok Bonnie,
Good question- If you had asked me that question about 6 years ago I would have picked Noah or someone from the Old Testament. Now however, I would pick my mom. She isn't with us here on earth anymore so I would love to have a conversation with her about what it's like to see Jesus face to face! How exciting to see both of them one day!

Congratulations on 700 posts - that's a lot of writing! I think I've enjoyed each one. I am trying to think of something I don't know about you, but there's not much. I would ask who your favorite sister is but I already know the answer to that! :)
Anyway - here's a question for you:
Do you have a favorite bible verse, and why is it your favorite?

OMW! 700!!!?? That's amazing!

I guess I would like to ask if you could give an example of a typical day for you... "A day in the life of Cheri"

700 posts? Wow! It's been fun reading them!

A question for you...(sorry if it's already been answered) How did you and Mark meet, and when did you know he was "the one"?

Mari-
My favorite Bible verse is:
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It's my favorite because I came across it after I lost the twins and it was a comfort during that difficult time.

Diane,
You're going to be bored by my typical day.
I get up at 6:45. Nick is already up and he leaves at 7:00.
Then it's time to get the girls moving. They are out to the bus at 7:45.
Then I come in and eat breakfast and do devotions. From there it depends on the day of the week. Monday's I get together with friends for lunch and our weekly "counseling sessions"
Friday's I get together with Terri and sometimes Mari for lunch.
On Tues, Wed, Thurs I don't have any set schedule. I will do laundry and household stuff and yes- spend a few "minutes" on the computer!
I usually get supper ready in the early afternoon so I can just stick it in the oven later because the girls get home at 4:00 and from then on I'm busy with homework, spelling tests etc...
Mark gets home at 5:45 and we eat right away and then after supper it's dishes and getting the girls going with showers. It always seems to go so fast after supper that it's time for bed for the girls. Usually around 8:30 it's TV time and bedtime for me is between 10-11.
Exciting huh!!!!!

Melissa,
I was set up on a blind date with Mark. They do actually work- Mari and Terri were also blind dates :)
I knew pretty quickly that I would marry him- I can't say it happened on a specific date but within 1 month I knew.
We were engaged after 6 months and we married 1 year later.

Would you be willing to post more about your adoption experience?

Congrats on 700!! Awesome! I am loving reading your replies and the questions given to you! I cannot think of Anything to ask you!! LoL!!

I think I have asked you everything over the past 10 years or so!! I love the one about you spending time with your mom. That made me teary!!!

Jodi,
Sure- I'm always happy to talk about our adoptions.
After we had Nick we struggled with infertility, miscarriages and the loss of our twins. We both decided adoption was what God had planned for us. Russia was where we were going, but it was quite the journey!
We got Arianna's picture after filling out piles of paperwork and having home studies done. Then the wait.... It about killed me.
Finally we got our court date and off we went to meet our daughter. She was so tiny- like a newborn at 1 yr old. We had to stay there for 6 weeks and then got to come home. Fast forward a couple years and the phone call came that her biological sister had been abandoned and did we want her! How could we say no! This time the process was a little different and we had to make 2 trips. The first trip to meet her - although wonderful- very painful to have to leave her there and come home. Then the 2nd trip and having to stay there for another 6 weeks and leaving the other kids behind. The court case was the most nervous I have ever been. There was a new judge in the district and she wasn't very favorable to adoptions. I was sweating bullets- thank the Lord she found in our favor and Halle was now officially ours. Staying in Siberia was an interesting experience I will never forget or frankly wish to repeat but so worth the end result!!

I never had a doubt that you had lots to say, LOL. Congrats on the 700!

My questions is, "...so when are we going to have lunch?" Just kidding, but I do have Friday's off now and then and I let you know if that might work :)

My questions is, "Did you get your love of cooking from you mom and what's your favorite thing to make?" My girls love to cook and I don't so I'm curious.

Cheri said...

Ginger,
I'm working on the lunch date as we speak!
As for your question- I don't think so. I don't remember my mom loving to cook a lot but she was working a lot with me than when she was home with the other kids so maybe that impacted it.
I just love to bake and cook- if I could have my dream job it would be something to do with that.

Sandra said...

Wow congrats, 700 posts is a LOT :)

How come you're not answering them in video like I did? LOL Just kidding!

Hmmm question....ok after you got married, what was the first meal you prepared for your husband?

Cheri said...

Sandra,
I'm not answering in video b/c I don't have that cute accent :)

Wow- for someone who likes to cook I don't remember the first meal I cooked after we were married- that's terrible!
I do remember the very first meal I cooked for him though when we were dating: French Lasagna, salad, and meringue cups with strawberry sauce for dessert.

It must have been good because it's still his favorite meal!

I am glad you are blogging. I try never to miss a post. We talk so much about the sister in Michigan.=)

My question is what is your favorite hymn? or chorus?

Wow! That is a lot of posts!! Congrats!!

My question is: Where is your favorite place that you've traveled?

A Stone Gatherer said...

That is alot of posts! WOW!!! Let's see what can I ask???? What is one of your favorite memories growing up?

Terri said...

Congrats on all those posts. I'm not asking anything because I think I already know pretty much all about you!
Although - are you still worried about Ben the bug? Trust me!! He's not real.

I want to come to lunch on Fridays!! I would pay big bucks to hang out with you girls!

Cheri,

I don't comment very much - but I read all of your posts! And, I love hearing about your life - as well as your sisters'.

Ok, so how about your favorite memory with Mari! And, your favorite memory with Terri! I'd love to know!

Congratulations on 700!! My 500th is coming up next week or so. Wow...hard to believe.

SO glad you're blogging and so glad I know you a bit through here.

Cheryl,
That is a easy question for me because if I have to pick a favorite song- not even specified hymn or chorus the answer is:
It is well with my soul

I can never make it through that song without tears overwhelming me- not a pretty sight in church :)

Cheri said...

Tammy,
Favorite place I've traveled hmmmmm..
That is a hard one- obviously Russia was the most emotional but not my favorite because it was so hard being there.
I think it would be St. Louis. It was a work trip for Mark that we all went on and it surprised us how much we all loved it there. We went to a botanical garden that even the kids couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was.
We just did a lot of fun things and it was a great trip.
South Dakota would be my 2nd favorite. It was so beautiful there- loved, loved loved the bad lands!

Ok Kim and Sarah,
Memories? That is a hard question.
As for memories with Mari- I would have to say it would have to be a memory when we were both grown up. I really don't remember a lot about specific memories with Mari because she was the oldest and I am the youngest. I did a lot with Terri growing up but nothing specific is popping in my head.Oh wait- I just remembered a memory of Mari that you all would be surprised by. It's not my favorite by I do remember a time when she was supposed to be babysitting us and she got into a huge fight with my brother. They were going after each other and Terri and I were trying to break it up to no avail! Fingernails were clawing and it wasn't pretty. They did settle down before mom and dad got home :)As for Terri- since she just asked me about Ben- I'll fill you in. She told me that she had a bug that was her friend and if I didn't do what she told me to she would tell Ben to crawl in my ear and eat my brain! Can you believe the torture I endured and to think I forgave her and love her now :) I think my favorite memories of both of them would have to be our Friday Christmas shopping trips. I can't even begin to tell you the uncontrollable laughter that happens on those trips. You all know how much I love my sisters, but I'll say it again- I AM SO BLESSED BY THEM!

Short Stop said...

I could cry. Ok, I just will. Sigh...

The love and laughter you three share just spills from the pages of your blogs! What a blessing indeed that you have each other and have such a strong bond!

And, LOL at Mari getting into a fight. Can't even imagine that for a second.
