I knew I had to make his favorite cake to make his day special.
It's called Angel Food Waldorf:
Bake 1 white angel food cake as directed. Place cake upside down. Slice off entire top of cake about 1 inch down from outer edge and 1 inch from edge of hole- leaving "walls" on each side. With a spoon remove cake within cuts- being careful to leave a base of cake 1 inch thick.
In chilled bowl- beat 3 cups whipping cream, 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 3/4 c. cocoa and 1/4 tsp. salt until stiff.
Spoon into cake cavity. Press mixture firmly into cavity to avoid holes in cut slices. Replace top of cake and press gently. Frost cake with remaining whipped cream mixture.
Chill 4 hours or until set.

Hope he had a good day! I would like to see a picture of the cake too - some of us are more visual people and need to see what you're talking about. Sounds really good though!!

So glad you spoiled him. I was afraid you would be laid up with your back and he would have to be put on the back burner.
