Halle has raided my hall closet and has a new love- the board game "Sorry".
Apparently her toys have gotten boring and she needed something new to occupy her time. It's great that she's a little bit older and can play alot more games that we have. She's pretty good at sorry- either good or lucky depending on how you look at it. The nice thing is that she's also a good sport about it when things don't go her way.
I love it that she's liking to play these games- it's a great way to spend time and she's not asking to watch TV!
So here's my question to all of you- what's your favorite board game that you remember playing as a child?

Well, either Life or Monopoly. But I think maybe I was a little older than your daughter.
We have bought, chutes and ladders, Hi Ho Cherrio, and Memory games several times since birth (I know I am ridiculous) and they keep getting ruined! I LOVE board games and cannot wait for them to get to this stage so we can play for real and not use them for other things that ruin them. :)
Much love,
Angela
My favorite was the game that we played on the board that Grandpa made - I think we called it Wahoo!
As a kid, I loved Hungry Hungry Hippos ! I remember one year we spent a couple weeks at my grandma's house and we MADE a monopoly board ! We didn't have the game at our place but she had it at hers. SO, we copied it ! Full size. Colored it and everything ! We loved it !! Never played it once we left her house though because we only had the board !! ha ha. I think maybe my parents did buy us the game after they saw our desperation in trying to MAKE IT OURSELVES !!!
Remember our sad childhood? No games for us. I think we had a few of them, but I don't really remember them too much!
My favorite was Life. I used to play it all the time with my brother and sisters. I have a lot of great memories of playing games with them!
I love Laura's comment...sounds like my kids. I bought them tons of games, but they always forgot how to put them away and lost all of the pieces :(
I loved the homemade board games we played with marbles and Hi Ho Cherrio.
I loved playing Clue over at the Bouws house. But I also loved the Wahoo board which is now living at my house. I loved most any type of game and still do. You know that - look at my cupboards!
I'm not sure which i liked best- but i'd didn't like agrevation or uno b/c i ALWAYS lost! of course mom and chez tend to win/cheat!

My favorite was Candy Land! :)
Parcheesi was my FAVORITE! I loved to play but naturally I was a SORE loser! (I know that's shocking!)
As an adult SCRABBLE was my favorite! Leslie bought me the deluxe swirly version for CHRISTmas one year - I don't think I have been beat yet!
My favorites were Monopoly and Life. I loved it when I got married in Life, and I was always the top hat in Monopoly, still am! We love playing theses games with out kids. It is great when a whole evening will go by and we haven't turned on the TV, instead playing games. One of our favorites not is Uno Attack. There is alot of screaming and thanking God it didn't spit out 10 card to you.
Wow! I loved games. Clue, Life, CandyLand, Uno and the homemade marble game were among some of my favorites. I have great memories of playing games with my family, especially my Mom since she stayed at home with me.
By the way, I'm finally back. Check your comments from the past two weeks because I am getting caught up from having my computer crash on me.
My favorite game was Monopoly, only because that's the only one my brother would play with me. I always wanted to do things with him so if that ment playing monoploy, then so be it.Patty
Mine would either be Aggravation or Life, they don't get boring like those games that take forever to play.
I think mine would be Monopoly but outside of board games it would most definitely be spoons. We played that game non-stop as kids. But a really fun new board game that the wonderful Sloterbeek family introduced us to is Settlers of Catan. We all just love it. I just played it Saturday night with Anna and Libby. I bought it from Amazon because I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.
If your familoves to play board games consider this for Christmas. Only draw back is you have to have at least 3 players and no more than 4 unless you by the expansion pack for 5-6 players.
And just for the record, Bonnie, I too owned the game Hungry Hungry Hippos and loved it until mom couldn't handle the noise and the marbles came up missing. Hmmmm?
Smiles!
I loved the game of life and monopoly!! I was never very good thought!!
